Darren Shimkus and Dennis Yang, formerly of Udemy, founded Modal to tackle the challenge of skill-building in the corporate sector with a focus on personalized technical training. Modal, aiming to stand out in the crowded upskilling market, concentrates on data and AI skills and emphasizes real-world application through on-demand coaching and online learning communities. With over 100 clients, primarily from the Fortune 1000, and a recent $25 million funding round led by Left Lane Capital, Modal plans to expand its offerings globally and support the growing demand for AI-driven upskilling in businesses.
