📝 AI investment falling

News of the Day

The AI industry is facing a financial slowdown, with a report from Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence revealing a second consecutive annual decline in global AI investments during 2023. Investments in AI startups and corporate M&A activities have decreased, with AI-related mergers and acquisitions dropping by 31.2% and private investments down slightly. However, certain AI ventures like Anthropic and Inflection AI still attracted major funds. Market analysts suggest this investment shift reflects a more mature and selective approach due to the realization of AI’s complexities and slower growth than anticipated. Despite the general pullback, generative AI continues to draw significant investment, highlighting a divergence in sectoral confidence within the AI field.
