Airbnb Founder's Grind
Story of the Day
The story of Airbnb's founders, Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia, is a testament to innovation and perseverance. In 2007, facing financial difficulties while trying to launch a startup, they came up with the idea to rent out air mattresses in their apartment during a conference in San Francisco. This concept evolved into "Airbed & Breakfast." To raise funds, they creatively sold special-edition cereals themed around presidential candidates, catching the attention of Y-Combinator. This initial struggle and unique fundraising approach laid the foundation for Airbnb's phenomenal growth, transforming it into a global enterprise with millions of listings worldwide.
