Amazon is integrating its Amazon Clinic telehealth service into its primary care business, One Medical, rebranding it as Amazon One Medical Pay-per-visit. This update introduces more affordable pricing, with video call visits at $49 and text message consultations at $29. The service offers telehealth for over 30 common conditions and a paid membership for on-demand virtual care and next-day in-person appointments at One Medical's 150+ U.S. offices. Membership costs $9 monthly or $99 annually for Prime members, and $199 annually for others. This move aims to simplify Amazon’s primary care services and enhance accessibility, potentially impacting health tech startups like Carbon Health and Galileo. Amazon's healthcare investments include a $4 billion acquisition of One Medical and the launch of Clinic in 2022. Other companies, such as Walmart, are retreating from the virtual care space, with Walmart closing its health center and virtual care service in April.
