News of the Day
Investor interest in AI coding assistants is surging, with Anysphere, the developer of Cursor, reportedly seeking funding at a near $10 billion valuation—just months after raising $100 million at a $2.5 billion valuation. The new round, led by Thrive Capital, values Anysphere at roughly 66 times its estimated $150 million ARR, reflecting a broader trend of soaring AI valuations. Similarly, Codeium, behind the AI coding tool Windsurf, is raising capital at a $3 billion valuation—70 times its $40 million ARR. As investors bet on their rapid adoption, AI-powered coding tools are attracting more investment than AI applications in sales, law, or healthcare.
