📝 Apolink raises $4.3M

Apolink, a space-tech startup founded by 19-year-old Onkar Singh Batra, has raised a $4.3 million seed round to build a hardware-independent, 24/7 connectivity network for satellites in low Earth orbit, aiming to eliminate the “dead zones” where satellites lose contact. Unlike traditional systems that rely on ground stations or require specialized user terminals, Apolink uses a hybrid RF-optical architecture and in-house-built components to offer backward-compatible, near-real-time connectivity with 99% uptime and eventual latency as low as 2–3 seconds. Backed by Y Combinator and other notable investors, and with $140M in letters of intent from space sector firms, Apolink plans its first demo launch via SpaceX in 2026, with full constellation deployment by 2029.
