Minnesota-based spyware maker Spytech was hacked, exposing thousands of devices globally to stealthy remote surveillance since 2013. The breach, verified through logs including the CEO's own device, showed Spytech's spyware — like Realtime-Spy and SpyAgent — compromised over 10,000 devices, including Androids, Macs, and PCs. CEO Nathan Polencheck claimed ignorance of the breach but vowed to investigate. Spytech, marketing its spyware for spousal and child monitoring, faces potential legal issues as unauthorized device monitoring is illegal. Spytech is the fourth spyware firm hacked this year, raising significant privacy and legal concerns.
