Assort Health, a two-year-old startup founded by ex-medical student Jon Wang and former Facebook engineer Jeff Liu, has raised $50 million in Series B funding at a reported $750 million valuation, just four months after closing a $22 million Series A. Led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, the round reflects surging investor appetite for AI tools that streamline patient communication, with Assort Health’s voice agents handling scheduling, cancellations, and FAQs so front-desk staff can focus on sensitive interactions. Though its annual recurring revenue is just over $3 million, the company is expanding quickly beyond orthopedics and physical therapy into specialties like OB-GYN, dermatology, and dentistry, betting that faster, AI-driven responses will help smaller practices retain patients in competitive markets. The raise comes amid a wave of activity in the space, EliseAI just raised $250 million at a $2.2 billion valuation, while Hello Patient secured $20 million, underscoring how patient communication is emerging as the next frontier for healthcare AI.
