📝 Bedrock Robotics raises $80M

Bedrock Robotics, a stealth-mode startup led by former Waymo and Segment engineers, has raised $80 million from Eclipse and 8VC to bring autonomous driving to construction vehicles by retrofitting existing fleets with adaptable sensors and AI. CEO Boris Sofman, previously head of Waymo’s trucking unit and co-founder of Anki, is steering the company toward modernizing off-road work environments. With pilot programs already underway in Arkansas, Arizona, Texas, and California, Bedrock joins a competitive yet fast-growing wave of startups focused on applying self-driving technology to rugged, industrial settings, such as construction and mining.
