As AI workloads strain compute, GPU, and electricity costs, Miami-based Cast AI has raised a $108 million Series C round—led by G2 Venture Partners and SoftBank Vision Fund 2—bringing it to a near-$900 million valuation. With major customers like BMW and HuggingFace, the startup uses automation to optimize cloud and on-premise infrastructure usage, boasting partnerships with key AI players like Crusoe Energy and SoftBank. Originally built to manage Kubernetes costs, Cast now rides the AI wave, claiming most CPUs, memory, and GPUs are vastly underutilized—offering a timely efficiency play as demand for AI compute soars.
You read a lot of VCs here saying "wow early stage is so back, deals are hot, feels like 2021".
But it's not.
Valuations for seed and Series A are at or near 2021 peaks.
Activity levels are WAY below 2021 levels.
