News of the Day
A group of engineers from Lucid Motors and Apple’s electric car team have launched Conifer, a startup reinventing hub motors using ferrite magnets instead of rare earth elements, lowering cost and supply chain risk. Their compact, efficient motor has already drawn $20M in seed funding from deep tech investors like True Ventures. Targeting small mobility vehicles and even lawn equipment, Conifer emphasizes its “drop-in” design for easy adoption. With ambitions to automate localized microfactories, the company aims to scale globally while sidestepping typical EV startup risks by focusing on simplicity, efficiency, and real-world impact.
We all love the "fastest to $100M ARR" curves, but this chart showing @AcquiredFM downloads over a ten-year stretch is one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen. Huge kudos to @gilbert and @djrosent. Everyone else: keep going!
