CRV, a venture firm with over 50 years of history, is returning $275 million from its $500 million Select fund, which was raised in 2022 for later-stage investments. This marks one of the first instances of a Silicon Valley firm returning capital to investors, driven by concerns that follow-on rounds for existing portfolio companies would reduce overall returns. CRV, which also raised a $1 billion early-stage fund, has decided not to raise another Select fund and will reduce the size of its next early-stage fund.
