News of the Day
Former Yahoo CEO and early Google executive Marissa Mayer is re-entering the consumer tech spotlight with Dazzle, a new startup focused on building the next generation of AI personal assistants. After quietly shuttering her previous venture, Sunshine, which struggled for six years to find a "non-mundane" product-market fit, Mayer has secured an $8 million seed round at a $35 million valuation. The round was led by Forerunner Venturesโ Kirsten Green, a prominent investor known for backing iconic consumer brands like Warby Parker, signalling a strong bet on the "late bloomer" phase of consumer AI. While specific features remain in stealth, Dazzle aims to simplify complex AI infrastructure into an intuitive daily tool, with the original Sunshine team transitioning to the new entity and previous investors retaining a 10% equity stake ahead of an expected early 2026 launch.
