This Election Day, transportation companies are stepping up with free or discounted rides to make voting more accessible. Lime, Bird, and Spin offer two free 30-minute scooter or bike rides using the codes VOTE2024 and RockTheVote2024, respectively. Lyft and Uber are giving 50% off rides to polling places, up to $10, with special election codes and in-app directions to nearby voting stations. Uber Eats will also offer 25% off orders for post-vote snacking. For those opting for a rental, Hertz is throwing in a free rental day on two-day bookings through November 5 (with restrictions). Additionally, Google Maps and Moovit are helping voters locate polling places, while transit agencies in cities like Detroit and Durham offer free rides all day to reduce transportation barriers. Check local transit options for similar free services, and make sure to plan ahead for a smooth journey to the polls!
