News of the Day

Einride, the Swedish freight-tech startup best known for its futuristic electric and autonomous pods, has raised $100 million in new funding led by existing backer EQT Ventures, with participation from new investors including quantum computing company IonQ. The raise comes as the company transitions under new CEO Roozbeh Charli, who took over earlier this year after co-founder Robert Falck stepped into the executive chairman role. Founded in 2016, Einride has built a three-pronged business around heavy-duty electric trucks, its signature self-driving “pod” vehicles designed without steering wheels or pedals, and freight-planning software. The company already operates in Europe, the U.S., and the UAE with major customers like PepsiCo, Carlsberg, DP World, and GE Appliances, though commercial adoption of its autonomous pods has been slow to scale. With this latest funding, Einride aims to accelerate the rollout of its autonomous freight ecosystem while navigating the broader industry challenge of turning expensive, experimental technology into profitable operations.
