Defense tech startup Epirus, known for its anti-drone system Leonidas, raised an oversubscribed $250 million Series D, surpassing $1 billion in valuation but reportedly lower than its $1.35 billion Series C. Co-led by 8VC and Washington Harbour Partners, with backing from General Dynamics Land Systems, the round brings Epirus’ total funding to over $550 million. Competing with defense unicorns like Anduril and Shield AI, Epirus plans to expand into global markets, strengthen its supply chain, and open a simulation center in Oklahoma to train soldiers in counter-drone warfare.
