Ferretly, an AI-powered social media vetting startup, has secured $2.5 million in seed funding and is launching a platform to screen election personnel. Founded in 2019 by Darrin Lipscomb, the company uses AI to scan social media and online data, uncovering potential risks like inflammatory rhetoric, hate speech, and extremist connections that traditional background checks might miss. The new platform aims to mitigate risks for hiring election personnel by highlighting digital red flags. With clients like Deloitte and Blizzard Entertainment, Ferretly plans to use the new funding to enhance marketing and R&D efforts.
