📝 Former Tesla Exec Raises $78M

Mytra, a robotics startup founded in May 2022 by automotive veterans from Tesla and Rivian, aims to revolutionize warehouse automation. The company operates in a competitive market, including players like Amazon and Locus, and focuses on addressing labor shortages and automation gaps in the global supply chain. Co-founder and CEO Chris Walti, who previously worked at Tesla on projects like the Optimus humanoid robot, found existing automation solutions insufficient for handling heavy payloads in automotive manufacturing. Mytra's technology, akin to vertical robotic storage systems like AutoStore, uniquely manages heavy loads and complex movements. Despite operating in stealth mode until now, Mytra has secured a pilot with grocery giant Albertsons and interest from several Fortune 50 companies. The startup recently raised $50 million in a Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to $78 million, with investors including Greenoaks and Eclipse.
