📝 Immitra Bio raises $3M

Zürich-based genetic medicine startup Immitra Bio has completed an upsized pre-seed financing round totalling $3 million. Led by Backbone Ventures and co-led by OCCIDENT with participation from Kickfund, Venture Kick, Zürcher Kantonalbank, FONGIT, and the ETH Foundation, the round will primarily fund preclinical proof-of-concept studies for lead candidate IB-003, a potential one-time in-vivo gene editing treatment for inherited anemia. Founded in 2024 by CEO Jan Nelis, Amir Taheri, and Jacob Corn, Immitra Bio is developing a digital target discovery and non-viral editing platform designed to bypass toxic, costly ex-vivo cell manipulation and stem cell transplants in favor of off-the-shelf, mutation-agnostic injectable therapies.
