📝 KOVE Medical raises $2M
News of the Day
Zurich-based MedTech startup KOVE Medical has secured a $2 million financing round backed by a syndicate of angel investors to advance its implantable medical device designed to reduce preterm birth risks following minimally invasive fetal surgery. Spun out of research from the University of Zurich and University Hospital Zurich in 2020, the company is developing a low-profile implant that seals the amniotic membrane at instrument puncture sites within five minutes without requiring extra incisions, directly tackling the membrane leaks and premature ruptures that currently limit fetoscopic procedures for conditions like spina bifida. The fresh capital will propel the device toward its initial First-in-Human clinical studies, placing KOVE Medical within a broader surge of European medical device investments that have topped €194 million across the continent in 2026.
