Lex, the queer-focused social app inspired by vintage lesbian personals, raised $5.6 million in seed funding. Co-founder Jennifer Lewis has taken over as CEO, while former CEO Kel Rakowski transitioned to chief creative officer. Lex aims to expand while maintaining a user-friendly approach for LGBTQIA+ communities, avoiding ad-based monetization models like those of Meta and TikTok. The app will experiment with paid features, such as allowing users to post more frequently. Stellation Capital led the funding, with several firms and angels participating.
