Lucid Motors set a new record by delivering 2,394 electric vehicles in Q2 2024, surpassing its previous record of 1,967 deliveries in Q1. The Saudi-backed, California-based company has been striving to gain a stronger foothold in the electric vehicle market by reducing prices and offering more affordable trims of its luxury Lucid Air sedan. Initially priced around $100,000, the base model now starts at $69,900. CEO Peter Rawlinson expressed optimism about the company’s momentum and growing consumer interest. Lucid, which also produced 2,110 vehicles in Q2, plans to begin manufacturing its Gravity SUV by year-end, aiming to attract a broader market. This growth in deliveries follows mixed results from competitors Rivian and Tesla in their recent quarterly reports.
