📝 Lyft crediting NYC congestion fee

In partnership with

News of the Day

As New York City’s congestion pricing program begins Sunday, Lyft has announced it will credit riders for the $1.50 per-ride fee throughout January. The program aims to ease traffic and fund mass transit, with fees varying by vehicle type and time of day. Lyft’s credits, usable for future rides or Citi Bike, are intended to soften the blow for riders already subject to the existing $2.75 congestion fee for trips below 96th Street. The move, described by Lyft as “a small gesture,” highlights the financial adjustments facing commuters as the city rolls out this new initiative.
