Chinese AI startup Manus has raised $75 million in a round led by Benchmark, valuing the company at around $500 million—five times its previous valuation. Known for its AI agent tools, Manus gained attention in March with a general-purpose agent demo (though early tests found it underwhelming) and now offers subscriptions priced from $39 to $199/month. Backed by Tencent and HSG, the startup plans to use the new funds to expand into the U.S., Japan, and the Middle East.
