📝 Microamp raises $7.5M
News of the Day
Warsaw-based wireless innovator Microamp has secured $7.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator to accelerate the deployment of its "Any-G" millimetre-wave (mmWave) AI-Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) wireless platform. The financial backing—structured as a €2.5 million EIC grant and a €4 million equity injection from the EIC Fund—arrives amid an intensive European investment super-cycle directed toward indigenous telecom infrastructure, high-frequency RF components, and signal-processing semiconductors to guarantee continental data sovereignty against external foreign monopolies. Founded in 2020 by CEO Dawid Kuchta and CTO Marcin Góralczyk, Microamp designs ultra-high-capacity, near-zero-latency, software-defined end-to-end networks that allow commercial industrial operators and defence agencies to seamlessly transition between evolving 3GPP standards, frequency bands, and early 6G frameworks. Unlike traditional, rigid private network infrastructures that have stalled due to astronomical capital costs, Microamp's fully reconfigurable, jamming-resistant architecture integrates communications with native signal sensing—turning the network itself into a high-resolution environment sensor—while simultaneously reducing long-term infrastructure ownership costs by a factor of five across critical transport hubs, industrial manufacturing plants, and specialized military missions.
