📝 Microsoft UK Class Action Lawsuit
News of the Day
Microsoft faces a £1 billion class-action-style lawsuit in the U.K., alleging it charged unfairly high fees to businesses using Windows Server on rival cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud, while offering lower costs to customers on its own Azure service. Filed in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the case accuses Microsoft of anti-competitive practices that harm competition and overcharge organizations. The lawsuit follows Microsoft's earlier settlements in Europe, including a €20 million deal with trade group CISPE. Funded by LCM, the collective claim seeks damages for affected U.K. businesses, automatically including them unless they opt out. Microsoft has yet to respond.
