📝 Musk wins Twitter severance case

News of the Day

Elon Musk successfully defended a lawsuit regarding severance payments for over 6,000 Twitter employees, including former CEO Parag Agrawal, fired following his 2022 takeover. A federal judge ruled that X Corp. does not owe additional severance, dismissing claims that Musk's company breached contractual agreements by offering only three months' pay instead of the previously promised six months. The judge determined that ERISA protections did not apply due to Musk's notice of cash payouts replacing previous severance plans. Despite this legal victory, Musk faces ongoing lawsuits from former Twitter executives seeking substantial severance payments.
