📝 NestAI raised $115M
News of the Day
NestAI has raised €100 million (about $115 million) in a round led by Finland’s sovereign wealth fund, Tesi, and Nokia, capital that will help the Finnish startup build what it calls Europe’s leading “physical AI” lab as it develops AI systems for unmanned vehicles, autonomous operations, and defence-focused command platforms. The company has also inked a partnership with Nokia to co-develop AI tools for robotics and defence applications. This move reflects Europe’s growing urgency to build sovereign AI capabilities amid the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war and an increasing reliance on autonomous systems. NestAI — founded by Peter Sarlin, who sold his previous company Silo AI to AMD for $665 million — is emerging from stealth with a team drawn from Intel, Kongsberg, Palantir, and Saab. Although it has no CEO yet, Sarlin says the venture aligns closely with his family office PostScriptum’s mission to bolster Europe’s technological independence and defence readiness.
