📝 Octostar raises $6.6M
News of the Day
Irish intelligence firm Octostar has successfully closed a Seed extension round totalling approximately $6.6 million to accelerate the deployment of its "sovereign AI" platform designed for national security and law enforcement. Led by Milan-based The Techshop alongside existing strategic and national institutional investors, the funding supports the company’s mission to provide "air-gapped" AI tools that operate entirely without cloud or internet connectivity, ensuring absolute data control for sensitive judicial and defence agencies. Octostar’s flagship Octobox appliance, a pre-configured "cluster in a box," is already being deployed across EU judicial bodies and the Middle East, offering advanced link analysis and generative AI capabilities that bypass traditional vendor intervention. By scaling its R&D in Italy and expanding its sales presence in London, the company is positioning itself as a critical provider for nations seeking to modernize their intelligence infrastructure while maintaining strict technological sovereignty and security-grade access controls.
