📝 Lemon Slice raises $10.5M
News of the Day
Digital avatar startup Lemon Slice has raised $10.5 million in seed funding to launch Lemon Slice-2, a 20-billion-parameter video diffusion model designed to solve the "uncanny valley" problem in AI interactions. Unlike existing "stiff" solutions, this end-to-end model generates photorealistic human and non-human avatars from a single image and can livestream at 20 frames per second on a single GPU. Backed by Matrix Partners, Y Combinator, and tech luminaries like Arash Ferdowsi and Emmett Shear, the company is positioning its embeddable widget as the interactive video layer for chatbots in education, e-commerce, and mental health, aiming to leapfrog competitors like HeyGen and Synthesia through a more generalized, scalable technical approach.
