News of the Day

Madrid-based startup Orbio has secured $21 million in a Series A funding round led by Dawn Capital and supported by Visionaries Club to scale its AI-native workforce automation platform built specifically for the global 2.7 billion deskless frontline workforce. Founded in 2025 by serial tech entrepreneurs Sergi Bastardas, Nacho Travesí, and Antonio Melé, the platform directly addresses the structural 70% annual employee turnover rate in logistics, retail, hospitality, and healthcare that routinely breaks traditional HR systems built for desk-bound professionals. Because deskless employees lack corporate email addresses and corporate logins, Orbio bypasses legacy software entirely by deploying autonomous AI agents that operate via standard mobile messaging and voice channels to manage the complete employee lifecycle 24/7. These conversational agents interview candidates within seconds, complete onboarding compliance in hours, monitor real-time churn signals, and coordinate shift scheduling for major enterprise clients like Adecco, Atento, and Yum! Brands (owners of KFC and Taco Bell). Coming less than a year after a €6.4 million seed round, this fresh capital injection will be used to fund aggressive market expansion across Europe, Latin America, and the United States, allowing multinational operators to permanently replace manual administrative labour budgets with a resilient, automated operational infrastructure.
