📝 Palabra AI raises $8.4M
News of the Day
Palabra AI, a 2023-founded startup by Artem Kukharenko and Alexander Kabakov, has raised an $8.4 million pre-seed round led by Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six to tackle the notoriously tricky challenge of real-time speech translation. Unlike typical text-to-text systems, Palabra’s custom data pipeline and proprietary models reduce latency to just 800ms while preserving human-like voice quality, enabling live translation across 30+ languages on platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, as well as APIs for enterprise use in multilingual livestreaming. The startup, already powering platforms like Agora and serving language-service providers, faces rivals from Google to Camb.AI, but aims to differentiate itself with a forthcoming streaming prediction model to further reduce delays and increase capacity to handle over 10,000 simultaneous audio streams.
Superintelligence belongs to everyone. I believe we all will have individual AIs that help us achieve remarkable things.
We have no idea what our true ultimate creative potential is, and I'm excited to discover it.
