๐ Peripheral Labs raises $8.7M
News of the Day
Toronto-based AI startup Peripheral Labs has raised $8.7 million in new seed funding co-led by Deloitte Ventures and Inovia Capital, with participation from existing backers Khosla Ventures and Entrepreneur First, bringing its cumulative funding total to $12.5 million. Founded in 2024 by University of Toronto robotics graduates Kelvin Cui and Mustafa Khan, the company utilizes neural rendering and autonomous vehicle perception concepts to build a large reconstruction model capable of converting standard two-dimensional video feeds into fully navigable three-dimensional environments for sports broadcasting and performance analysis. Following a relocation from San Francisco back to Toronto in 2025 and recent high-profile testing with the NBA Launchpad program and the Toronto Raptors, Peripheral Labs plans to deploy the capital expansion toward engineering talent, league and stadium partnerships, and the upcoming launch of its first consumer-facing browser replay system.
