📝 Phosphor Capital raises $34M

News of the Day

Kulveer Taggar, a two-time Y Combinator alum and founder of Zeus Living is the head of the solo-led venture firm, Phosphor Capital, which has raised $34 million across two funds despite investing solely in YC startups. With 6% of YC companies reaching unicorn status and a quarter of those becoming decacorns, Taggar sees strong returns ahead, especially under YC CEO Garry Tan’s leadership (who is also an investor in the fund). Phosphor has already backed over 200 YC companies, including Gumloop and Circleback, betting on early-stage AI and workflow startups with checks from $100K to $500K and leaning on Taggar’s deep ties and hard-earned empathy as a founder.
