📝 Realta Fusion Raises $36M

News of the Day

While some fusion startups falter, Realta Fusion just raised $36 million to finalize the design of its Anvil prototype, aiming to be shovel-ready by the end of its Series A. The Wisconsin-based spinout from the University of Wisconsin uses a magnetic mirror design that could lower power costs to $40/MWh over time—potentially rivaling today’s cheapest gas plants. Backed by investors like Khosla Ventures and Future Ventures, Realta is betting that its scalable magnet tech can bring fusion energy to market. A Series B to build Anvil is planned next, as policymakers eye nuclear to power growing data center demand.
