Runware has raised $50 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to $66 million. The round will help scale its developer platform, which enables real-time image, video, and audio generation through a unified API. Founded in 2023 after co-founder Flaviu Radulescu noticed how slow existing text-to-image tools were, Runware has since powered more than 10 billion creations for over 200,000 developers, offering day-zero access to open-source models, competitive per-image pricing, and its custom Sonic Inference Engine that supports more than 400,000 models. Led by Dawn Capital with participation from Comcast Ventures, Speedinvest, Insight Partners and a16z Speedrun, the round will help expand Runware’s infrastructure, grow its 25-person team, and push toward its ambition of becoming the API layer for all generative AI while enabling app builders to scale to millions of users without losing margins.
