📝 SAP Acquiring SmartRecruiters

News of the Day

SAP announced Friday that it will acquire recruiting software firm SmartRecruiters, aiming to unify the hiring process within its HR suite. While terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, the acquisition is expected to close in Q4. SAP said SmartRecruiters’ intuitive interfaces and workflows will enhance its talent management tools by allowing customers to handle everything from sourcing to onboarding in a single system. SmartRecruiters was last valued at $1.5 billion in 2021 after a $110 million Series E round.

This is an important point.
The AI-related investment expansion is like a fiscal expansion.
So it is crowding out other activities. Crowd out likely not 100% but likely high given that we've basically been at full employment with above target inflation
