Despite the controversy, Telegram climbed to the No. 2 spot on the U.S. App Storeās Social Networking charts and saw a 4% increase in global iOS downloads. The surge in downloads, likely driven by curiosity and support for Durovās stance on "free speech," underscores the complex interplay between negative press and app popularity. However, the appās ranking momentum may be short-lived as the legal proceedings continue.
