📝 Twelve Labs Raises $30M

Twelve Labs, a startup specializing in video-understanding AI, has raised $30 million in new funding, bringing its total to $107.1 million. With backers like Nvidia, Samsung, and In-Q-Tel, the company’s models enable advanced video search, content summarization, and analytics, catering to sectors like media, entertainment, and public safety. CEO Jae Lee emphasizes a video-first approach, distinguishing Twelve Labs from general-purpose multimodal AI models. The startup is also expanding its offerings to support multimodal embeddings and "any-to-any" search capabilities. Adding former SK Telecom CTO Yoon Kim as president, Twelve Labs aims to grow into new verticals, including security and automotive.

IMHO, the most dangerous attitude in tech is that you need to work longer hours to maximize impact. The most productive people I know have figured out how to reduce distractions and cut unnecessary work such that they can work 40-60 hour weeks. Focus, my friends (and sleep too).
