📝 UK Government Launches AI Assistant

The U.K. government is launching an ambitious AI strategy to modernize public services, including AI assistants for civil servants, improved data sharing between departments, and streamlined processes to save time and money. The plan includes "Humphrey," a suite of AI tools to ease civil servants’ workloads, such as summarizing public consultations and automating meeting notes, while also targeting legacy inefficiencies like in-person registrations and excessive bureaucracy. Though promising £45 billion in annual savings, concerns remain over data privacy, inter-departmental collaboration, and the reliability of AI-driven conclusions, as previous cross-department initiatives faced hurdles in execution.
