News of the Day
Wygo has secured nearly $1.2 million in pre-seed funding to scale its community event platform designed to move social lives offline. Founded by University of Waterloo graduates Jocelyne Murphy and Christopher Oka, the startup provides a whimsical, "stick-figure decorated" interface for hosts to manage ticket sales, donations, and attendee engagement. The round drew significant attention from the Canadian ecosystem, with backing from N49P, StandUp Ventures, Garage Capital, Backbone Angels, and Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke.
